“Roof over your head” day
The sound of the rain bouncing off your window when you’re cosy inside, passing dogs in street, meeting old friends. In light of ‘roof over your head day’, we are reflecting on the little things we are grateful for, and things that we may even take for granted.
It has been reported that this year almost 20,000 young people will be homeless or at risk of homelessness at the loneliest time of year – Christmas. With all the festive cheer going on and the present giving, it can be so easy to forget that there are so many people out there who don’t have the same support or even a safe place to spend Christmas.
Ways to practice your gratitude:
- Appreciate little things
- Express yourself
- Spend time with loved ones
- Improve your happiness in other parts of your life
Building up to Christmas Day, we are sharing our ‘12 days of Christmas’ advent calendar with you which is full of ways in which you can give over this Christmas period and help the less fortunate this time of year – make their Christmas Day special. These include little tips such as donating or helping others in some way, but they also include different ways and places you can donate to and ways you can volunteer.
