This November we’re “Saying Why” to knife crime!
It’s time to announce our next “Say Why” to theme – and this month we’re saying why to knife crime!
On the 5th October, members of the Got Your Back team and editorial board attended the No More Knifes event held at the Bonus Arena.
We brought our ranting and raving booth, spoke to lots of you guys about the issues important to you, and had a great night getting to see so many young people in Hull come together for such a good cause.
So, why are we talking about knife crime this month? Simply put, you guys told us to! Not only from speaking to young people at the event, knife crime and safety has come up as a massive issue from a lot of the young people we speak to in youth groups and schools across Hull.
From why people carry knifes, how to protect yourself, how to report someone you know carrying a weapon and much more, you guys had lots of good questions around the topic of knife crime.
So what better time to talk about it! From interviews with ex-gang members to interviews with police we’ll be discussing knife crime from all angles to create open discussion. As always, our content is created by young people in Hull for young people in Hull – so if you want to get involved or have your own content you want to share with us, get in touch!
